Education
is an integral & essential part of our culture as we use
it to both improve on knowledge we are already familiar
with & in developing new technologies & new ways of thinking.
Education enables us move forward & develop ourselves,
both as individuals & as a culture.
As individuals it is natural that we are always looking
for ways in which to improve ourselves, whether it is
an improvement of the mind, an improvement of the body
or even improving our status within society itself. All
these areas can be improved upon through education. From
the day we are born we are constantly learning the skills
we require to progress & education is a merely a means
in which to focus this hunger into specific areas & subjects.
Education can also help us discover the skills in which
we are suited to & ascertain the subjects in which you
have an interested in.
As a culture, education provides us with the skills &
knowledge required to keep us moving forward. An example
of progression within cultures includes the advances throughout
the ages, such as the progression from the Stone Age,
Bronze Age & then to the Iron Age etc. This type of advancement
is occurring each & every day as we learn more & more.
We first attend educational facilities when we start nursery,
usually at around the age of 3 & each time we move through
the higher education system we become more & more involved
in the subjects we choose to learn about. One of the key
roles of the educational system is to provide us with
a trade or area of interest which can be used to benefit
one's own self improvement & ultimately the whole of society.
Once we have left college or university, we find education
still plays a major role in each of our lives. For example
we use schools
to obtain a driving licence or maybe help us understand
sports we enjoy playing, such as golf, so we can better
ourselves & stimulate our need to learn.
Some of the people who pass through our educational system
will find themselves teaching future generations within
the very same educational system which taught them. Many
of the individuals who choose teaching as a profession
consider the practice a very rewarding endeavour, whether
they are teaching at nursery level or PHD level & there
are a huge variety of subjects, schools,
colleges & universities with openings available throughout
the UK.
